Called to be a Witness not a Saviour!

The other day I heard the story of a lady who feels unworthy as a Christian because she is 'not saving' people (her words). As I heard the story I realised that there was a lack of proper understanding in this poor women's life. As Christians we were never called to be a Saviour, we have only been called to be a witness!

Acts 1:8 says, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

We are called to testify what we have seen or heard or know about Jesus Christ. This is witnessing. How people respond to our witnessing is not a measure of our worth in any sense. One is only to be faithful as a witness.

So, lets keep our focus on what we have been called to do - be a faithful witness!
